Stunning Tennis Court Build in Eaglemont
Eaglemont is a suburb rich with heritage and artistic vision. So when we were asked to take on a tennis court build in Eaglemont as part of their overall extension and renovation plan, we were thrilled.
We knew it would be a project that required the highest attention to detail and level of craftsmanship and you know we love a challenge.
Build on top of a basement – challenge accepted!
Yes, on top of a basement. And why not? It’s a smart way to utilise space. It did mean we had to give careful consideration to the waterproofing system we installed to ensure it was appropriate for the safety of both the basement and the court.
We discussed the impact on the synthetic grass of the torch-on waterproofing with the Project Manager we thought a little outside the box.
Conventional overlap seams were still used but we found a solution for optimal drainage to keep the court looking, feeling, and playing at its best.

Now that we knew the new tennis court surface was safe from waterlogging, it was time to amp up the extravagance with premium grass, green sand, and optimal lighting.
Premium synthetic grass
The choice to install premium textured monofilament synthetic grass means this court will offer both casual and serious players a consistent and high-performing surface. The monofilament fibres are great for ball control and means this surface is ideal for quick changes in direction. That makes for a great tennis experience.
Green sand
Green sand adds both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The fill provides stability to the synthetic grass extending its life. This stability also enhances the natural feel and improves traction to reduce the risk of injury. It’s also a master of visual appeal. By choosing a coloured sand, we added vibrance and natural shading.
Advanced lighting solutions
Lighting is essential for night play, especially on those long Melbourne winter nights. That’s why we went with installing slimline 425 Watt LED lights. Not only are they powerful, but they also blend nicely with the environment. Their sleek design fits perfectly with the overall extension and renovation and that was one of our main aims with this tennis court build.
