Pickleball in your backyard

If you haven’t heard of pickleball, chances are you might be living under a rock! But never fear, it’s not too late to jump onto this growing trend as its popularity is growing rapidly across the globe.

Who says you have to find your nearest local court to play on? If you have the space, Ultra Courts has the know how! As part of external enhancements, we had the opportunity to build a pickleball court for this amazing family in Portsea.

How we make it happen

Building a pickleball court in your Portsea backyard is an exciting way to create a fun, social space for family and friends. The process starts with choosing the right spot, ideally a level area that gets plenty of sunshine and has good drainage. Once the location is locked in, the ground is cleared and levelled to form a solid base. A layer of crushed rock is often used for stability, followed by a durable concrete or asphalt surface. This ensures the court can handle the coastal conditions while remaining smooth and low-maintenance.

The court is then measured and marked to official pickleball dimensions (it’s got to be official!), with crisp lines for the service areas and non-volley zones. This court’s design features solid and vibrant colours that seamlessly blend with the surrounding landscape.

The end result? You gain a private, custom-built pickleball court that blends beautifully with your Portsea lifestyle. It’s perfect for entertaining, staying active  and enjoying the outdoors all year round.
