There is much to be celebrated in Australian Cricket News at the moment, with a great start to 2022.

The men’s and women’s teams both won The Ashes against England in an exciting 2021-2022 Australian cricket season.

As huge cricket fans, and leaders in Melbourne residential cricket ground installation, the Ultracourts team watched The Ashes series closely. It is important to share the exciting news for anyone who might have missed it. (Though we know how many of our customers love cricket and would have been watching with bated breath, just like we did!)

Vodafone Men’s Ashes Series

Australia and England contested The Ashes in five Test matches between 8th December and 18th January. While the fourth Test resulted in a draw, this was as close as England got to a win. The Australian Cricket team won all other Test matches, to take out the series 4-0.

Special mention for the series goes to newcomer Scott Boland with bowling stats of 6/7. All the cricket fans out there most likely know that this is extremely good for someone on debut!

The Women’s Ashes 2022

Congratulations to the Australian women’s cricket team, after beating England in the 2022 Women’s Ashes. It was a challenging season for women’s cricket all round, with one T20 ending in a draw, and the third T20 not even happening! Australia started the tournament strong with a win, however, and in the end took out The Ashes with a T20 win, a Test draw and an ODI (One Day International) win.

We’re looking forward to seeing how the next two ODI’s play out ahead of the World Cup.

Coming Up…

The 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup is set to go ahead in New Zealand from 4th March until 3rd April, while the men’s World Cup isn’t until November.

In the meantime, the men’s cricket team has been cleared to tour to Pakistan in March. It will be the first time the Australian team has toured Pakistan since 1998 – that’s a huge 24-year break! The tour will consist of three Tests, three ODI’s and one T20.
