Our brand-new, custom-built tennis court at this stunning Ivanhoe property has just received national recognition, being named Runner Up for the 2025 Construction of Domestic Sports Courts (Synthetic Grass) award!

A Custom Court Designed for Performance and Harmony
From the outset, our Ivanhoe clients envisioned a tennis court that went beyond the ordinary — a surface that performed exceptionally while complementing the architectural style of their home and the natural beauty of the property. The site presented unique challenges, including a steep gradient and strict lighting considerations due to neighbouring properties. Our team at Ultracourts approached the project with meticulous planning and innovation, managing every stage of construction — from excavation and base works to surfacing, fencing, and advanced lighting installation.
Intelligent Engineering on a Complex Site
The steep topography of the location required strategic design and technical excellence. Early collaboration with the property owners allowed us to incorporate smart lighting solutions that balanced functionality with environmental sensitivity. Using IQ Lighting luminaires and a four-pole configuration, we achieved an average light level of 382 lux, ensuring optimal playability while minimising light spill and preserving the tranquillity of the neighbourhood.
Aesthetic Design Meets Functional Innovation
Preserving the property’s sweeping views was a key priority. Our design team developed a custom containment system that delivered both elegance and practicality. Rather than a uniform three-metre fence, we installed a sleek 1.8-metre chainmesh fence with top and bottom rails for a refined finish, complemented by soft, retractable netting that extends to full height during play. This design maintains open views when the court is not in use while providing full containment during matches — a perfect balance of aesthetics and usability.
Premium Surface, Flawless Finish
Of course, a court is only as good as its playing surface. We chose the premium, texturised monofilament “TopCourt” in a beautiful OLIVE colour, which was perfectly chosen by Ultracourts to blend seamlessly with our landscape and the colours of our home. The installation was finished flawlessly with 100% green silica sand infill, giving us a court that looks spectacular and plays like a dream.
