What is involved in a tennis court rejuvenation?
Rejuvenating a tennis court is no easy task. It involves a comprehensive process to restore its appearance, functionality and safety. Given the region’s varied and often unpredictable climate including hot summers, as well as cold and wet winters — Melbourne courts often experience surface wear, cracking, drainage issues and faded line markings over time. A professional rejuvenation begins with a detailed inspection to assess the extent of damage and determine the most suitable restoration techniques.
Before and after
The previous court, which had a remarkable 32-year history (how’s that for stamina?!), was crying out for a refreshing new look. The upgrade involved replacing the aged and wearing surface with the premium “Topcourt” texturised monofilament. On top of that we made sure the new line markings were visible for all to see. No one will be able to miss whether the ball is in or out at the next family championship!
As the court already had fencing, that was left alone, but we brought more light to the surface by replacing the old court lights with the more modern and new 445 watt Slimline blade style LED light fittings. Night matches will definitely be highly visible for this ace family when they next hit the court.
