Brighton Tennis Court Rebuild

If your old tennis court is looking a bit worse for wear, it might be time for a new lease on life, just like this Brighton tennis court rebuild Ultracourts recently completed.

For those unfamiliar with the work involved in a project like this Brighton tennis court rebuild, there are several key steps involved, from assessing and evaluating the current setup and conditions, to undertaking the construction and also resurfacing aspects.

It’s true when they say a picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to the Brighton rebuild project. Each stage had its vital processes and steps to follow. Here, Ultracourts will break it down and what was involved, hit by hit.

Assessing the old and planning for the new
Assessing an old tennis court before a rebuild helps Ultracourts plan for the new surface to go in. We assessed the condition of this Brighton tennis court rebuild project and see where or if it has experienced any issues, such as drainage or other damage.

We will then look at all the civil works required to complete the new court, such as excavation, steelwork and drainage required for the job.

The next steps
– All of the necessary removal work of the old court is undertaken before we get started with the preparation of the base for the new court.
– Base preparation work takes place with compacting soil to ensure a stable foundation, making sure all the proper drainage is in place and then putting the base layer in place.
– Next up it’s time for the new surface to go in (in this case it’s concrete), which is then cured before proceeding.
– Then it’s time for the new playing surface to come on board (using either synthetic grass surface or impact-friendly Rebound Ace surface) before the lines are painted.

Adding the fencing and accessories
The fencing – ideal for containing those wayward rogue hits – and lighting (perfect for those night sessions or fun games with the kids) is put in place. This is followed by the all-important net, which can be easily removed for maintenance or other uses for the court.

We will then undertake the final check of the court to make sure everything is in top hitting shape and all surfaces are even.

This is also the perfect time to discuss a maintenance plan to keep your court in good condition and extend its life as much as possible.
